Guest recappers for May: Sign-ups open!

After a first month best described as "eventful", and an impressive selection of guest recaps, let's see what May brings. Now with extra added Saturdays!

Jim Brown-USA TODAY Sports

You'll no longer HAVE to do a Sunday, as the guest recap role will be expanded to either Saturday or Sunday - there will still be one, but that can now be either weekend day, and it's your choice, whichever works best. Therefore, when requesting a recap, be sure to specify the day and date you want. Otherwise, it's the same as ever, which for your convenience is:

Every weekend throughout the regular season, we open the doors of the 'Pit to any member as a guest recapper, who can cover the game from their own unique perspective. You do the recap of the game as a Fanpost, however you want. It can be light-hearted or not; stats-heavy or not. detailed or atmospheric - it's all about your own voice. One of the editors then takes it, adds the bells and whistles like roll-calls and Fangraphs and it will then appear on the front cover of the SnakePit. It'll also be submitted to Google News, Yahoo! and a bunch of other outlets, so you can amaze your friends and impress your family! We'll also be on hand to help if you have questions on the day..

To pick a date, just speak up in the comments, choosing your game. When I spot them, I'll cross the games off the list. You'll then get an email, a day or so before, with details. If you haven't done it before - you need to reply at that point, confirming you're still up for it. I tend to have more faith in repeat recappers!

Yes, I talked mrs snakepit into recapping a game, though this will consist of me transcribing her rants. Expect to hear about how teams should fine players, every time they strike out, and other interesting ideas to improve the game....
