You'd think that, when drawing up the Cactus League schedules, early regular season scheduling might be taken into account, and the Diamondbacks would avoid having so many of their final tune-ups against teams they are going to see in the first handful of series come Opening Day. Maybe play against American League teams, or at least against outfits from other divisions. But, no: as a result, Banda gets the start here, while Zack Greinke throws in a camp game on a back field. While Greinke certainly hasn't looked as if he needs any additional work, you kinda wonder what the point of spring training is, if a back-field training session is "good enough".
Could it be... money? Hmm...
