Today sees the return of Herrmann, who hasn't played in a Cactus League game since March 12 - we were beginning to wonder what had happened, as the hip injury seemed to be lingering. Good to see him back, and seems he may be back in the mix for the final bench spot. Was wondering if there was going to be a tactical DL stint in his future, seeing he is out of options. [Related: the player traded to Minnesota in exchange for Herrmann, Daniel Palka, hit two home-runs in his Grapefruit League debut for the Twins yesterday]
Also related, Nick Piecoro just Tweeted that, according to Chip Hale: "A.J. Pollock will play in a minor league game without restrictions tomorrow. Probably stay in minors games through weekend." Will that be enough time for A.J. to ready for the Opening Day roster? I dunno. But it makes sense to keep him in minor-league games until he is proven fit: in the event of any issue, as long he hasn't appeared in any games with "paid attendance", we can backdate the disabled list stint.
