The first of consecutive evening games for the Diamondbacks - I always wondered why they don't have more of these, since the conditions are virtually perfect - sees us take on Milwaukee for the first time this season. There's quite a difference in the number of games we have against the other Cactus League teams this spring. Here's the list, in descending order:
-
Rockies - 5
-
Giants - 4
-
Mariners - 3
Padres
-
Dodgers - 2
Cubs
Angels
Royals
Reds
Brewers
Rangers
Athletics
-
Indians - 1
White Sox
What did Cleveland and the South side of Chicago do to us? I do note the schedule leans more heavily toward the National League (which makes sense) with the Mariners the only AL side we see more than twice. It's also heavy on our division, against whom we play 14 of the 33 games. That's not too far off the division play ratio in the regular season, though it's certainly not a balanced schedule, since we see the Rockies as much as the Dodgers and Padres combined. Be curious to see whether the breakdown is similar for the other teams - but let's be honest, life's too short to be analyzing this in much more detail!
This is a televised game, but if you're watching locally (rather than on MLB.tv), be aware it's on Fox Sport Arizona Plus and not the regular channel. This may help, if you can't find it!
