Yep, the DH has come to the National League! The horror, the horror... Well, actually, it's not uncommon this early in spring training for teams to agree to use it, giving an extra spot at a point when hitters are still trying to get warmed up. Today, it's wannabe backup catcher Herrman who occupies the spot. It's our first chance to see a couple of pitchers for whom 2016 will be important, in De La Rosa and Bradley. Rubby needs to show he can get left-handed batters out, and the off-season word is, a plan of attack has been formulated. Now, can he execute? Bradley is in a fight for the last rotation spot, and has to show he still has the stuff that once made him a top prospect.
This one is on the radio, on ESPN Phoenix 620, and should be kicking off shortly after 1pm, Arizona time.
