Spring Training Gameday Thread #20: 3/19, Diamondbacks vs. Mariners

After a very successful first half of today's split squad action, focus moves across to the other side of town and Peoria Stadium, where the other half of the Arizona roster will take on Seattle.

P Tyler Wagner, plus in no particular order, Zac Curtis, Scott Rice, Myles Smith, Jimmy Sherfy, Enrique Burgos, Josh Collmenter, Kaleb Fleck, Jency Solis

At first I was all excited about the pitcher not batting eighth here. Then I realized, we're playing an American League team in their park, so the DH is in effect. Dammit. Weeks gets the slot here, and we'll see how Wagner does. If he implodes, as Zack Godley and Archie Bradley did be3fore them, then we may want to start anointing Robbie Ray as the fifth starter. Mind you, we'll also see what happens with Hayes catching: last time he started was the game in Mesa where the Cubs pounded 15 runs off the Diamondbacks, so we'll perhaps get to see tonight whether he was part of the problem!

7:10pm first pitch, with the game available on MLB.tv, I believe. Here's to a split-squad sweep, which would give us 15 wins in our first 20 Cactus League games. Not bad...
