Spring Training Gameday Thread #15: 3/14, Diamondbacks vs. Mariners

The almost unstoppable force which is the Arizona Diamondbacks this spring, takes on Seattle at Salt River Fields this afternoon.

Yep, we get to see our pitchers hit for the first time in a game situation this afternoon, and we start things off with the most raking of pitchers, Greinke, who is hitting eighth. That's not necessarily a unique tactic, considering his career batting average is .220, just two points below that of Ahmed, who is hitting ninth! Oh, yeah - and Zack had more home runs last season than his battery-mate, Gosewisch... This is not insignificant. Since 2013, Grienke has been worth 2.7 bWAR with his bat and glove. That's more than Mark Trumbo or Miguel Montero, each of whom have been worth 2.6 bWAR over the same time. Probably something we should be factoring into his overall value.
