Players report this month! [and confidence poll]

Woo-hoo! Welcome to February - a month that will see first pitchers and catchers, then all Diamondbacks, report to Salt River, with practices beginning shortly thereafter. The month will finish with the first pre-season game, against West Virginia. Baseball is back, folks!

As the calendar turns to February, it's time to crack open the monthly confidence poll. We had the first one of these at the beginning of January, and the overall results seemed to indicate a degree of cautious confidence

  • 1% - 1 (not confident in the slightest)
  • 0% - 2
  • 1% - 3
  • 3% - 4
  • 3% - 5
  • 26% - 6
  • 42% = 7
  • 18% - 8
  • 5% - 9 (very, very, VERY confident)

All added up, that works out at an average score of 6.7, which is pretty high for any team that finished last year below .500 - for obvious reasons, the signing of Zack Greinke was seen as a huge boost to the team's chances. After a generally quiet month, things exploded over the weekend, with the long-expected trade of Aaron Hill to the Milwaukee Brewers, the Diamondbacks receiving Jean Segura. So how will that play into fan confidence as we head into the second month of the year?
