SnakePit official election thread

We have a long-standing and firmly-enforced rule against political discussions on the SnakePit. It’s a very sensible one, given the divisive nature of the topic and the long odds of anything remotely positive emerging. But every four years, on Election Day, we suspend it. This is that thread, and only here, the ban on politics will be lifted. However, please note, all other SnakePit rules remain in full effect.

In particular, the one about personal attacks on other ‘Pitters, which will be strictly enforced. Offenders will, at the very least, have their comments deleted and be tempbanned until tomorrow. No arguments, for the SnakePit is not a democracy, it’s a Jimtatorship. Just so we’re clear, that means:

• Clinton/Trump is stupid - Sigh. I guess, if you must...
• You are stupid for supporting Trump/Clinton - Goodbye.

However, bonus points if you can refrain from either, and actually explain in positive terms, why you are voting for your chosen candidate.

Let’s remember, we’re all (well, almost all!) Diamondbacks fans, and that’s far more important than where we put an X. So, remain respectful, and treat others with the respect you would want for your opinions. Do not make me regret this post.

As for my own opinions, if you care, I just posted 1,500 words over on my film site, since here didn’t seem the correct forum for it. Obviously, they are entirely personal and do not represent, in any way, the views of the SnakePit, SB Nation, Vox Media (particularly the more liberal bits!), or anyone else. You are perfectly welcome to skip it entirely. Otherwise, I’ll take questions now... :)
