— Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) October 16, 2016
The search is over. The Diamondbacks have hired Mike Hazen as their new EVP and GM. Previously, Hazen had worked for the Red Sox as the General Manager under Dave Dombrowski and was the Assistant GM prior to that.
The 40 year old Hazen is a graduate of Princeton, and played two seasons of minor league ball in the Padres system in the late 90s.
Hazen will be formally introduced at a press conference tomorrow. The team still has to hire an on-field manager, but with Hazen's hiring, that process may become faster.
