Goldschmidt #1? This is my unsurprised face... Yeah, Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was ranked first among first basemen on MLB Network's Top 10 Right Now! program last night, while our starting pitcher Zack Greinke was ranked third among starting pitchers. Goldschmidt finished one spot ahead of the Cincinnati Reds' Joey Votto, while Greinke finished one spot ahead of the Boston Red Sox's David Price, and one spot behind the Chicago Cubs' Jake Arrieta.
Taking into account a number of offensive and defensive metrics, both advanced and traditional, plus projections for the upcoming season, MLB Network's Top 10 Right Now! series ranks the top players at each position heading into the 2016 season. Here are the full top tens for both positions.
