Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 9/4: Taylor Pitches KC to Another Win

Josh Taylor tossed 5.2 shutout innings to lead Kane County to their 82nd win against 53 losses.

AAA: Reno 6 El Paso 5. Allen Webster got the start and was so-so allowing 4 runs over 6 innings but it was good enough for the win. Peter O'Brien led the offense with 3 hits including a double, a triple and 3 RBI. Nick Evans had 3 hits while Nick Buss and Jamie Romak each had 2. Kaleb Fleck pitched the 9th for his 7th save.

AA: Mobile 4 @ Pensacola 5. The teams battled back and forth to a draw after 9 then went all the way to the 15th inning before the Blue Wahoos strung together 3 hits in the 15th, 2 off Jake Barrett, to get the walk-off win. Brandon Sinnery started and gave up 3 runs through 5 innings. Edgar Garcia took over in the 9th and took it all the way to the 15th without allowing a run until Barrett came on with a runner on. Mark Thomas went 2 for 3 with a walk and a big 3-run homer in the 2nd inning. Sean jamoeison went 4 for 7 and Socrates Brito hit his 9th home run.

A+: Visalia 8 Lake Elsinore 4. Anthony Banda evened his record at 8-8 with 5 innings allowing 3 runs though just one was earned. he was trailing 3-0 before the offense posted a 6-spot in the bottom of the 5th. Tyler Baker went 2 for 4 with a double and 3 RBI. Jamie Westbrook went 2 for 3 with a walk and 2 RBI and Chuck Taylor had a couple of singles.

A: Kane County 6 @ Quad Cities 1. Josh Taylor was very good with 5.2 shutout innings on 5 hits and 3 walks. The offense was good too with 12 hits, 3 by Cody Regis who also drove in 3. Marty Herum had 2 hits including his 7th home run. Henry Castillo drove in 2 runs on 2 hits and Ildemarro Vargas added a couple of hits.

A-: Hillsboro 2 Eugene 0. Justin Donatella sparkled for 5 shutout inning on 2 hits and a walk. Four relievers followed with each posting their own shutout inning with just one hit allowed and 5 strikeouts. Taylor Clarke got the save with a perfect 9th and 2 strikeouts. The offense had just 4 hits but it was enough. Trevor Mitsui had a double and drove in both runs.

R: Missoula 2 Great Falls 3. Junior Garcia started and gave up 2 runs, one earned over 3 innings. Cameron Smith followed with 3 sparkling innings not allowing a hit and striking out 4 though he allowed an unearned run. The offense didn't do enough with just 7 hits. Jason Morozowski had 2 hits including his 6th home run.
