Diamondbacks re-instate Phil Gosselin, option Allen Webster, DFA Kevin Munson

To make room for Gosselin on the 25-man roster, the D-backs optioned right-handed pitcher Allen Webster to Triple-A Reno following yesterday's game.

Gosselin, 26, was batting .325 (13-for-40) in 20 games with the Atlanta Braves prior to his injury. He was then traded to Arizona on June 20 in exchange for right-handed pitchers Bronson Arroyo and Touki Toussaint. Gosselin, who initially was placed on the 15-day disabled list on May 18, played in 14 rehab games with Reno, Single-A Visalia and Rookie AZL D-backs, hitting .316 (18-for-57) with 5 doubles, 2 homers and 11 RBI.

Munson, 26, has combined to go 2-3 with 2 saves and a 3.57 ERA (16 ER in 40.1 IP) in 35 games (4 starts) with Reno, Double-A Mobile and AZL D-backs this season. Webster, 25, did not factor in the decision in yesterday's game vs. Oakland A's, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) over 5.0 innings. He was recalled from Reno prior to the game.
