Gabriel Arias struggled in 13 starts for Reno but he's been awfully good in his 7 starts for Mobile. He tossed 5.1 shutout innings on 2 hits with 8 strikeouts on Saturday to help Mobile split a doubleheader.

Snake Stars
3 Stars: Gabriel Arias, Mobile 5.2 IP, 2 H, 2 BB, 8 K, 0 ER
2 Stars: Ildemarro Vargas, Kane County 4 for 5, 1 R, 1 DBL, 1 TPL, 2 RBI
1 Star: Bo Takahashi, Missoula 5 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 3 K, 1 ER
0 Stars: Kevin Cron, Visalia 0 for 4, 3 K

AAA: Reno 2 @ Oklahoma City 5. Aaron Blair started and was solid but not solid enough to get the win. Blair went 6 innings allowing 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and 2 walks with 2 strikeouts. Kevin Munson followed and gave up a hit and a home run and the offense wasn't up to that task. Jamie Romak drove in both Aces runs, one on his 24th home run. Matt Pagnozzi chipped in with 2 singles.

AA: Game 1. Mobile 0 @ Jacksonville 5. Edgar Garcia was wild and gave up 4 runs in 4 innings with 4 walks. The offense was worse getting just 3 hits. Short story.

AA: Game 2. Mobile 1 @ Jacksonville 0. Gabriel Arias was outstanding going 5+ shutout innings allowing 2 hits and 2 walks with 8 strikeouts. He couldn't get the win though as the offense had just 3 hits until Sean Jamieson clubbed a solo home run in the top of the 7th for the game winner. Silvino Bracho pitched a perfect 9th with 2 strikeouts for his 16th save.

A+: Visalia 2 Rancho Cucamonga 7. Markus Solbach wasn't his best getting roughed up for 7 runs in 6 innings. Cody Geyer was good with 2 shutout innings and 2 strikeouts, but it was too little too late. The offense cranked out 11 hits, 10 of them singles, but couldn't deliver with men on base. Alex Glenn, Phil Gosselin, Daniel Palka and Fidel Pena each had 2 hits apiece.

A: Kane County 5 Quad Cities 6. Jared Miller wasn't too bad giving up 4 runs (3 earned) in 6 innings of work, but the offense never headed that deficit and he took the loss. Nick Baker gave up 2 runs in 2 innings of relief and that eliminated comeback thoughts. Ildemarro Vargas had a big game with 4 hits including a double, a triple and 2 RBI, but the rest of the offense wasn't in sync.

A-: Hillsboro 4 Boise 6. Tyler Bolton pitched into the 6th but gave up 11 hits and 5 runs. The offense had 4 of their own through 4 innings but the Boise bullpen shut them down from there on one hit. Dansby Swanson and Luis Veras each had 2 hits.

R: Missoula 3 @ Billings 4. Bo Takahashi had a nice outing giving up one run over 5 innings. The bullpen wasn't as sharp giving up 3 more the rest of the way and the offense came up short. Closer Dan Savas took the loss in the bottom of the 10th. Four hits was all the offense could muster.
