Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 7/5: Solbach Leads KC to 10th Straight

The Kane County Cougars are on fire and Markus Solbach helped make sure it stayed that way. He pitched 8 strong innings allowing one run on 6 hits to lead them to their 10th straight win.

AAA: Reno 5 Sacramento 3. Allen Webster was decent allowing 3 runs over 6 innings on 7 hits and a walk while the offense did enough to make him a winner. Nick Evans did the heavy lifting with a 3-run homer in the 3rd inning while also adding a double Jamie Romak went 2 for 3 with a walk, a double and an RBI and Brandon Drury went 2 for 3 with a walk and scored twice. Addison Reed pitched a perfect 9th with a strikeout to earn the save.

AA: Mobile - Rained Out

A+: Visalia 2 @ San Jose 5. RJ Hively got roughed up for 4 runs over 4 innings though he did strike out 7. The offense had an off day with just 6 hits, 2 by Breland Almadova.

A: Kane County 10 @ Clifton 1. Markus Solbach led the Cougars to their 10th straight win with a big 8-inning effort allowing just one run on 6 hits. The offense broke it open early with 7 runs in the first 4 innings and never looked back. Henry Castillo had a big night going 3 for 4 with a triple and 3 RBI. Elvin Soto had 2 hits with a triple and Colin Bray went 2 for 5 with an RBI and a stoeln base.

A-: Hillsboro 11 @ Everett 4. The Hops blew open a close game with a surge of 8 runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings. Jared Miller dug the team a small hole with 4 runs allowed in the first 3 innings, though 2 of those were unearned. But he settled in and got through 6 with no further damage allowing the offense to get untracked. Ferbery Ozuna led the charge with 3 hits including a double and his 2nd home run. Gerard Hernandez went 4 for 6 with an RBI and Josh Anderson clubbed a pair of doubles. Stephen Dezzi had 2 hits, 2 walks and scored 3 runs.

R: Missoula - Rained Out
