AAA: Reno 8 @ Albuquerque 11. The isotopes bandbox of a stadium was not kind to Reno pitchers, especially Jhoulys Chacin who is trying to impress for a major league gig. He made it through 5 innings allowing 6 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5. The Aces managed to overcome most of that and took a 7-6 lead into the 6th when Seth Simmons got tattooed for 5 runs while recording just one out. Cody Ransom led the offense with 2 hits including a double and one RBI. Jamie Romak hit his 15th home run while Todd Glaesmann and Matt Pagnozzi added 2 hits each. Pagnozzi also walked twice.
AA: Mobile 8 @ Jackson 0. Zack Godley wasn't phased with his promotion to AA and easily spun 5 shutout innings on 3 hits and 2 walks for his first win at the level. Additional newcomer Daniel Gibson, Jimmie Sherfy and Adam Miller took care of the final 4 innings. The offense banged out 14 hits led by Sean Jamieson who had 3 including a double. Gabriel Guerrero had 2 hits with a double while Socrates Brito and Zach Borenstein each added a pair of singles. Brito also stole 2 bases.
A+: Visalia 6 Lake Elsinore 5. Blake Perry had a horrid start and couldn't get out of the 1st inning after allowing 3 hits and 3 walks. Fortunately Kevin Vance came on and pitched well with 4 innings of one-run ball that gave the offense a chance to get back in it. And get back in it they did with 2 in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd for a 6-3 lead they would not relinquish. Five other relievers contributed to closing out the game with Nick Sarianides picking up his 15th save. Mitch Haniger had a double, a walk and 2 RBI and Domingo Leyba had 2 hits, an RBI and a stolen base.
A: Kane County 1 @ Burlington 0. Wei-Chieh Huang gave more of the same good pitching he's been giving with 5 shutout innings on 3 hits, no walks and a whopping 8 strikeouts. Hard to believe he won't be pitching in Visalia soon. This game remained scoreless with relievers Tom Jameson, Jency Solis and Luis Ramirez going the final 4 frames. The offense didn't break through until the 9th when Marty Herum singled and stole second in front of an RBI single by Joe Munoz for the game winner. Herum had 2 hits with a double and Munoz had 2 singles.
A-: Hillsboro 2 Eugene 6. Cody Reed's second start didn't go as well as his first as he had 2 bad innings where he allowed 3 runs in the 4th and 3 more in the 6th when he was knocked out of the game, though 2 of the runs were unearned. The offense couldn't overcome the second bad inning with just 7 hits for the game. Dame McFarland went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
R: Missoula 10 @ Great Falls 5. Yefrey Ramirez was decent allowing 3 runs over 5 innings on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 6. The offense and the bullpen took it from there. The offense had 12 hits, 2 triples, 6 stolen bases and 7 walks to crank out 10 runs. Isan Diaz had 3 hits and 2 stolen bases to lead the way. Jason Morozowski, Luke Lowery and Jake Peevyhouse each had 2 hits and combined for 5 RBI.
