Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 6/8: Corbin Rehab Start Shaky

Patrick Corbin made his first rehab start since  undergoing Tommy John surgery a year ago and it did not go well. Corbin didn't make it out of the first inning allowing 4 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks and only retired 2 batters. On a brighter note Stryker Trahan continues to heat up as he clubbed a pair of homers including a grand slam.

Snake Stars
3 Stars: Stryker Trahan, Kane County 2 for 4, 2 R, 2 HR (10), 6 RBI
2 Stars: Braden Shipley, Mobile 7 IP, 5 H, 1 BB, 4 K, 2 ER, L (3-5)
1 Star: Ildemaro Vargas, Kane County 3 for 4, 2 R, 1 DBL, 1 RBI
0 Stars: Patrick Corbin, Visalia 2/3 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 0 K, 4 ER, L (0-1)

AAA: Reno 4 @ Fresno 6. Caleb Clay dug the team a hole from which it could not escape. He allowed 6 runs in 5+ innings and the offense could only get within 2. Seth Simmons made his first appearance at the AAA level and put in 1.2 shutout innings though he did walk 3. Nick Evans had 2 hits and 3 RBI to pace the offense. Jamie Romak and Nick Buss each added 2 hits with a double.

AA: Mobile 1 @ Biloxi 2. Braden Shipley was going toe to toe with Biloxi starter Brooks Hall through 6 shutout innings. Shipley cracked first when he gave up a 2-run homer in the 7th. The offense scratched out a run in the 8th as part of their measly 4-hit day but that was as good as it got.

A+: Visalia 3 Lancaster 8. Patrick Corbin began his journey from from TJ surgery with his first rehab start and it was fairly ugly. He only retired 2 batters and allowed 4 runs on 4 hits and 2 walks. The team was never really in the game after that. Breland Amadova had 2 hits with a triple and an RBI to lead the lackluster offensive output. Domingo Leyba had 2 hits with a double and Kevin Cron added a pair of singles.

A: Kane County 11 Dayton 3. The offense took charge of this one with a 17-hit attack that included 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 5 walks. Chuck Taylor, Ildemaro Vargas and Cody Regis led the way with 3 hits each and 5 runs scored combined. The big star though was Stryker Trahan who really has the bat working of late as he hit 2 home runs including a grand slam and drove in 6 runs. Ethan Elias was the beneficiary allowing 3 runs (2 earned) over 5 innings on 5 hits and 3 walks. Troy Marks did well following Elias with 3 shutout innings.
