"When guys play well, they should be talked about. He's having a good season, he's having a good run right now. He's showing what we all thought he could do. Like I said before, he's such an athlete sometimes he could look ugly at the plate and he makes adjustments and good athletes can do that."

Castillo HR carries new club past Colon, Mets -

Welington Castillo hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the D-backs to a 2-1 win over the Mets on Saturday night at Chase Field. Castillo's two-out homer was the lone mistake made by Mets starter Bartolo Colon, who allowed just five hits over seven innings and struck out seven but lost for the third time in five starts. The D-backs moved to 3-18 when trailing after six innings.

Pollock emerging as D-backs' secret weapon -

Paul Goldschmidt has gotten plenty of well-deserved attention of late for the way he's swinging the bat, but as opponent's advance scouts will likely tell you, D-backs outfielder A.J. Pollock is also on quite an impressive run.

Hernandez to rejoin D-backs; Leone optioned -

The D-backs optioned reliever Dominic Leone to Double-A Mobile after Saturday's game to make room on the 25-man roster for reliever David Hernandez, who will be activated from the disabled list on Sunday.

deGrom aims for more road success in finale - game preview

deGrom is 6-4 with a 2.41 ERA, but was 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in his first three road outings of the season. But Monday's game, when deGrom took a perfect game into the sixth inning, helped alleviate some of the right-hander's road woes. Josh Collmenter will head to the mound for the D-backs looking to snap a streak of five straight starts without a win. Collmenter, who is 3-5 with a 5.03 ERA, has not won since May 6.
