Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 6/3: Shipley Rebounds

After a string of stinker performances Braden Shipley rebounded nicely on Wednesday with 6 shutout innings on 3 hits and a walk with 5 strikeouts. He really needed a game like that and hopefully this gets him on track for a good run.

Snake Stars
3 Stars: Braden Shipley, Mobile 6 IP, 3 H, 1 BB, 5 K, 0 ER, W (3-4)
2 Stars: Socrates Brito, Mobile 3 for 4, 1 R, 1 TPL, 1 RBI
1 Star: Ethan Elias, Kane County 7 IP, 6 H, 2 BB, 1 K, 2 ER
0 Stars: Colin Bray, Kane County 0 for 5, 2 K

AAA: Reno 2 Round Rock 5. Caleb Clay had a respectable outing going 7 innings allowing 4 runs, though just 2 were earned due to his own error. The offense was pretty tame with 2 runs on 7 hits. Jake Lamb made his first rehab start and went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. Garrett Webber had 2 RBI.

AA: Mobile 6 Pensacola 0. In a game shortened by weather Braden Shipley shut down the Blue Wahoos (I love that name) on 3 hits and a walk for an easy win. The offense took some of the pressure off Shipley by scoring early and often with all 6 runs scored in the first 4 frames. Socrates Brito led the offense with a 3 for 4 night including a triple and an RBI. Zack Borenstein did the most damage with a 3-run homer in the 3rd that made the score 5-0.

A+: Visalia - Off Day

A: Kane County 1 Bowling Green 3. Ethan Elias had another fine outing allowing 2 runs over 7 innings but it was for naught when the offense couldn't push more than one run across in spite of garnering 10 hits. They hit into 2 double plays, went 1 for 7 with RISP and left 10 men on base. Ryan Gebhardt had 3 singles and Victor Reyes added a double and 2 walks.
