Given a brand new "show me" contract by the Diamondbacks Joulys Chacin didn't waste the opportunity pitching 7 strong innings for Reno in their 2-1 win. All he did was limit Sacramento to one run on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 9. Couple more of those and things could get interesting. Also interesting was he beat Matt Cain who is rehabbing for the Giants. It probably wasn't too long ago that those two sqaured off in major league action.

AAA: Reno 2 @ Sacramento 1. Jhoulys Chacin out-dueled a rehabbing Matt Cain in a hard-fought 2-1 win. Ketih Hessler, Seth Simmons and Kaleb Fleck combined to close out the final 2 innings. Mike Freeman and Blake Lalli drove in the 2 runs while Cody Ransom went 3 for 4.
AA: Mobile 6 @ Pensacola 2. Patrick Corbin made his 3rd rehab start and things just keep getting better. He started with 5 shutout innings allowing a hit and 2 walks before tiring in the 6th when he allowed 2runs on 2 hits and was relieved with 2 outs after reaching 79 pitches. The offense did its job which featured 2-run homers by Socrates Brito and Gerson Montilla. Brandon Drury added a pair of singles and 2 RBI.
A+: Visalia 2 Rancho Cucamonga 5. Blayne Weller was pretty good allowing 2 runs (one earned) over 6 innings with a whopping 10 strikeouts. Unfortunately the offense nor the bullpen could back up that effort and secure a win. Daniel Gibson took the loss when he allowed a 2-run homer and J.R. Bradley allowed a solo shot the next inning. The offense had just 5 hits.
A: Kane County - Rained Out
A-: Hillsboro 6 @ Spokane 3. Cody Reed made his first start of the year and was awfully good pitching 4 shutout innings without allowing a hit and striking out 4, though he did walk 3. The offense built a 6-0 lead and they cruised from there. Jose Martinez made his first appearance in almost a year and allowed 2 runs on 2 walks and a hit doing mop up work in the 9th. Quinnton Mack went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and Trevor Mitsui had 2 hits including his first home run.
R: Missoula @ Billings 4. Scott Schultz was so-so allowing 3 runs over 4 innings on 7 hits, though he walked none and struck out 6. The offense could only muster 6 hits with 2 each by Isan Diaz and Luke Lowery.
