Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 5/6: Ijames Homers Twice

Stewart Ijames homered twice in support of Zack Godley's 6th win as Visalia improved to 20-7.

AAA: Reno 6 Sacramento 3. Vidal Nuno was very solid pitching 8 innings allowing 3 runs on 6 hits with 9 strikeouts. Jake Barrett followed in the 9th to pick up his 5th save. Peter O'Brien went 2 for 3 including his 8th home run and 3 RBI. Garrett Webber and Mike Freeman each added two hits.

AA: Mobile 1 Jacksonville 2. Gabriel Arias was very good going 7 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and no walks while striking out 8. But the offense was not to be found as the Bears went down to defeat. The lone run came off a Gerson Montilla solo home run. Brandon Drury went 2 for 4.

A+: Visalia 7 @ Rancho Cucamonga 2. The Rawhide trains continues to steamroll with another win behind solid pitching from Zack Godley who improved to 6-0. Godley allowed 2 runs over 6 innings with 6 strikeouts. Stewart Ijames provided most of the offense with a pair of home runs giving him 9 on the year. Domingo Leyba went 2 for 5 with 2 RBI and George Roberts went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI.

A: Kane County 1 Quad Cities 4. The pitching kept this one close till the end as Jared Miller pitched 5 strong innings allowing a run on 3 hits. But the bullpen let it get away in the end. The offense managed just 7 hits with Joe Munoz going 2 for 2 with 2 walks.
