Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 5/1: Godley Again

Zach Godley continues to impress with terrific outing after terrific outing, all the while toiling in one of the toughest leagues to pitch in, the California League. He threw 6 more strong innings with just one unearned run allowed. At this rate he's first in line for the next opening in the Mobile rotation.

AAA: Reno 3 @ Las Vegas 4. Vidal Nuno had a nice outing allowing 3 runs (1 earned) over 6 innings, but the offense couldn't even match that pace scoring 3 runs on 7 hits. Two of the runs came on a 9th inning pinch-hit, 2-run homer by Garrett Webber. But they couldn't get the tying run across. Danny Worth went 2 for 2 with a double.

AA: Mobile 4 @ Biloxi 2 (13 innings) Gabriel Arias is having himself a nice season so far sporting a 1.61 ERA to date and he was at it again on Friday. He went 8.1 strong innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. The bullpen followed with 4.2 shutout innings they got them through the 13th and the win. RJ Hively got the win with 2 scoreless innings, and Seth Simmons pitched the 13th for his 1st save. Gerson Montilla provided the offensive heroics in the 13th with a 2-out, pinch-hit, 2-run double to give them the lead. Rudy Flores had three hits.

A+: Visalia 9 Bakersfield 2. The Rawhide improved to 18-4 with another easy victory behind the stellar pitching of Zach Godley. The offense backed him up smartly with 8 runs on 11 hits led by Breland Alamdova's 2 hits and 3 RBI. Kevin Cron had 2 hits with a double and 3 RBI and Jamie Westbrook had 2 hits with a double.

A: Kane County 8 Beloit 10. The Cougars lost a wild back-and-forth affair when Zac Curtis got tagged for 2 runs in the top of the 9th. Starter Jared Miller wasn't his best allowing 7 runs in less than 5 innings. The offense did its part with 14 hits but it wasn't enough. Cody Regis had 3 hits and 2 RBI and Stryker Trahan had 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Marty Herum, Josh Elander and Grant Heyman each chipped in with two hits.
