Schugel, fresh off his demotion to AA was pitching well with 4 shutout innings to start the game, then surrendered a 5-spot in the 5th which was more than the offense could overcome. The offense had 9 hits but went 1 for 10 with RISP, hit into 2 double plays and left 10 runners stranded. Rudy Flores and Raul Navarro each had 2 hits.
A+: Visalia 6 San Jose 4. The Rawhide upped their record to 26-9 behind some decent starting pitching from Blake Perry and timely hitting. Perry went 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. The offense scored 6 runs in the 5th through 7th innings on just 5 hits total thanks to a couple of errors. Jamie Westbrook had 2 hits with a double. Nickolas Sarianides pitched the 9th giving up an unearned run for his 5th save.
A: Kane County 2 @ Wisconsin 1. Markus Solbach allowed a single run in the 1st then produced a clean sheet for the next 5 innings on 4 hits and no walks with 5 strikeouts to up his record to 3-2. The offense was pretty quiet except for Grant Heyman's 2-run homer in the 4th which was the difference maker. Ryan Hutchison had 2 hits.
