AA: Mobile 2 Jacksonville 8. Starter Edgar Garcia held the game tight with a solid 5 inning outing allowing one run on 6 hits and 2 walks and he left the game with the score tied 1-1. But the bullpen imploded allowing 7 runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings and that was all she wrote. The offense was pretty flat though Brandon Drury went 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI.
A+: Visalia 8 @ Bakersfield 6. Blake Perry started and was pretty good outside of allowing a couple of 2-run homers early on. he got through 7 innings allowing 4 runs on 5 hits while walking none and striking out 8. The Rawhide trailed 4-3 heading into the 9th but exploded for 5 runs in the inning that featuring a 2-run single by Daniel Palka and a couple of runs on throwing errors. Bakersfield tried to come back in the 9th with a 2-run homer but Joey Krehbiel came on and got the save. Palka went 2 for 5 with a home run and 4 RBI. Fidel Pena had 2 hits including his 2nd home run while Stewart Ijames and Chuck Taylor added 2 hits each.
A: Kane County 14 @ Clinton 3. The Kane County bats are alive as they poured on the offense from beginning to end. Six players had multi-hit games led by Cody Regis who went 3 for 3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI. Marty Herum, Joe Munoz and Steve McQuail all homered for the Cougars. Markus Solbach was the beneficiary though he didn't need much pitching 6 strong innings allowing an unearned run on just 2 hits.
