Arizona Diamondbacks set roster: Cody Ross released, Yasmany Tomas optioned

So here are the answers to the questions posed earlier today:

• Everyday third-base: Jake Lamb. It looks like the team decided Tomas needed more seasoning down in the minors - whether that will be at third-base or in the outfield remains to be seen.
  
• Final bullpen spot: Andrew Chafin. Vidal Nuño and Robbie Ray have been re-assigned to Reno, presumably as part of the Aces' rotation, and Enrique Burgos will be with Double-A Mobile. Tony La Russa said they like the versatility, and want Ray to develop as a starter.
• Backup catcher: Gerald Laird. Pacheco will give the team a third option, but that's more likely to be used to allow for pinch-hitting late in games. Laird will presumably get the lion's share of starts when Tuffy is not able to play.
  
• Bench: Laird, Cliff Pennington, Aaron Hill, Pacheco and Ender Inciarte. A real stunner to see Cody Ross, who still seemed to have a place on the bench, due to his ability to handle left-handed pitching. But it appears the team valued Pacheco above Ross. Money truly is not an object for the 2015 Diamondbacks.
