A very shaky 1st inning from Archie Bradley where he threw almost 40 pitches threatened to knock him out of the game, but he settled down to retire 13 of the next 14 batters he would face. He finished his outing with 2 hits, 1 run, 5 walks and 2 strikeouts in his 6 innings pitched. You might have guessed from the 5 walks, but this was really the first time we've seen him struggle in the majors. Luckily for him, he was facing the offense-challenged Rangers.
On offense, A.J. Pollock and Mark Trumbo led the way with 2 hits a piece while Chris Owings knocked a homer and tripled to pad the lead in the later innings. Nick Ahmed hit a double and walked in his debut at the 9 hole and played his usual superb defense at shortstop.
After yesterday's bullpen implosion yesterday, Randall Delgado pitched 2 scoreless innings and while Andrew Chafin was really bad, Addison Reed came on and gave up a run before shutting the door. After a really poor showing yesterday, it was good to see the D-backs take care of business on the offensive side and split the 2-game series with the Rangers.
