Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 4/20: Ray and Godley Sharp

Three of four affiliates won with impressive pitching performances by Robbie Ray and Zack Godley.

0 Stars: Andrew Barbosa, Mobile 2/3 IP, 3 H, 3 BB, 1 K, 5 ER, L (0-1)

AAA: Reno 6 Albuquerque 2. Robbie Ray had it going with 10 strikeouts over 5 innings, allowing just one run. Peter O'Brien continues to mash with a 3 for 4 game including a double and his 4th home run. Cody Ransom got things going early on with a 3-run homer in the first.

AA: Mobile 1 @ Montgomery 16. Andrew Barbosa got the start after I thought maybe they were converting him into a reliever and it did not go well. he could not get out of the first inning before allowing 5 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks. Things got so bad late that Mobile turned to infielder Gerson Montilla to try and finish the game but he allowed 8 runs on 9 hits. The offense managed just 2 hits.

A+: Visalia 5 @ Modesto 0. Zack Godley was at it again with 6 shutout innings on 4 hits and no walks. He struck out 7. Stewart Ijames went 2 for 4 with a home run and Kevin Cron hit his 4th home run.

A: Kane County 8 @ Quad Cities 6. The Cougars came out on top in a back-and-forth affair by winning the battle of the bullpens. Jared Miller was so-so allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits and 3 walks over 4+ innings. Colin Bray led the offense going 3 for 4 with a walk and an RBI. Stryker Trahan went 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI. Luis Ramirez pitched the 9th for his first save.
