Week 2 results

AZ SnakePit 5, Angry Saguaro 5
The final pitch of the week secured a W for Wainwright and with it, a tie for Saguaro. They also got two HR and eight RBI from Kendrick, with Abreu adding two HR and six RBI. But Snake had Hitter of the Week Cruz, with an insane six HR and 10 RBI, while Grilli notched three saves to keep pace.

MyWieterGetzLongoria 7, Yasmany as Possible 2
Wieter swept hitting, powered by Donaldson (three HR, seven RBI) and Souza (three HR, eight RBI). Ramirez had a pair of HR for Yasmany, and Miller saved three, but they slumped to a second heavy loss. Harvey picked up a pair of Wins and 15 strikeouts for Longoria, Strasburg adding a W + 12 K.

Smell the Glove 1, Steven B's Swag Team 9
N00bs Swag are making an impression, rising to 3rd on the back of the week's biggest win. Glove got three HR and seven RBI from Cespedes, but could only take BA. Marte led Swag's offense with two HR and seven RBI and they took all the pitching, behind Britton's (3 Sv) and Tillman (W + 5 K).

Socrates Burritos 5, What the Hellickson? 5
The Burritos had a clear edge in hitting, Jones and Freeman each homering three times; Goldschmidt also had three HR for What. But roles were reversed on the mound, despite the Burritos having Pitcher of the Week  De Grom (two W, zero ERA); Greene got two W for What, who had a 2.58 ERA.

Trail-Hitters 7, Waffles 3
Waffles' pitchers piled up 71 strikeouts, led by Pineda (two Wins and 14 strikeouts), but Trail got a W + 12 K from Odorizzi and five Saves by Familia. They also had the advantage in hitting, with Stanton getting two HR and eight RBI, countering three HR and seven Runs for Waffles from A-Rod.

Dirk Ziegler 3, CGS 6
Though Dirk batted .297, they also had a power outage with only two HR; Trout, Utley and Montero all equaled that for CGS. Pitching was more balanced, with Porcello getting a Win and a dozen K's for Ziegler, but Hudson notched ten K's for CGS and Ottavino two Saves as they cruised to victory.

Alabama Slammers 7, Mizzoula Osprey 3
The Osprey are coming out of the gates slowly, while the Slammers roar to the top on the back of a second large win. They took all the pitching points thanks to Miller (two W, seven K) and McCarthy (W + 16 K), while Martinez was the only player to homer twice. Cain scored and drove in six for Mizzoula.

Week 3 schedule

AZ SnakePit vs. Smell the Glove
MyWieterGetzLongoria vs. Angry Saguaro
Socrates Burritos vs. Steven B's Swag Team
Trail-Hitters vs. What the Hellickson?
Dirk Ziegler vs. Waffles
Alabama Slammers vs. CGS
Mizzoula Osprey vs. Yasmany as Possible

The ESPN televised game of the week sees the Socrates Burritos take on Steven B's Swag Team in a contrast of styles. Socrates have been offense-driven, powered by Adam Jones and Joey Votto, without a pitcher in the top twenty. The reverse is true for Swag, who have no highly-ranked hitters, but a pitching staff anchored by Z's: Zack Greinke is their ace to date, with Zach Britton the main closer.
