Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 4/13: Who's Not Hot?

All four affiliates won last night but our focus tonight is on who is off to slow starts.

Here's some of the minor league position players who are not off to the greatest of starts through 5 games. As you can see some of our more important prospects populate the list.

AAA: Reno 2 @ El Paso 1. Starter Caleb Clay pitched a gem with 6 shutout innings on 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 5. Relievers Dan Runzler and J.C. Ramirez added shutout innings in relief before Jake Barrett struggled a bit in the 9th before closing the game out after allowing a run. Danny Dorn and Nick Evans each drove in a run while Jamie Romak and Blake Lalli each had 2 hits.

AA: Mobile 11 @ Birmingham 3. No trouble for the Bay Bears in this one as the offense put up 5 runs in the 4th and 4 more in the 7th in support of a decent start by Gabriel Arias who allowed just 2 runs over 6 innings. Mitch Haniger did the most damage with 3 hits including 2 doubles and 4 RBI. Socrates Brito And Raul Navarro also had 3 hits each.

A+: Visalia 4 San Jose 2. Ryan Doran had a very solid start allowing 1 run over 6 innings on 5 hits. The offense did just enough led by Breland Almadova's 2 hits and 2 RBI.

A: Kane County 5 @ Burlington 3. The Cougars got their first win of the season behind 5 shutout innings by Marcus Solbach who surrendered 4 hits and a walk while striking out 4. The bullpen made it interesting when they surrendered 3 runs in the 6th. But Mason closed it out with 3 strikeouts in the 9th. Steve McQuail paced the offense with 2 hits, 2 walks and 2 RBI. Marty Herum had 2 hits, a walk and 1 RBI and Fernery Ozuna added a pair of hits.
