In first place, we have benhat, with his homage to America's First Baseman
The "#44"
A silver slugger colored dog wrapped in a golden glove of a bun. Despite high production costs, it is served with a Los Angeles Dodgers toilet seat so you can Schmidt Gold on the Dodgers after finishing your meal.
In second, we have ford.williams.10, with a hot dog that I would actually eat, which is something I wasn't expecting from this article...
Barbecue Boy
Half Pound of spicy hot dog mixture (various spices like tobasco sauce to pump up the flavor), very slow cooked on a wood grill (a water pan underneath to keep the meat moist). Onions, peppers and cheese topped with mustard and ketchup. (Your choice). This captures the Memorial Day barbecue flavors that you experienced as a kid. This bad boy is about 10 inches long and 3 inches in diameter. Served on a 10 inch bun.
Served with ice cold 16 oz. of beer and some fries/chips/pretzels.
In third we have a tie. First we have preston.salisbury with his homage to baseball tradition
The Stretch Dog
This combines the "bigger is better" mantra with the things mentioned in the Seventh Inning stretch sing-along of Take Me Out to the Ballgame. It’s an even longer version of the d-bat dog (24 inches) with the breading containing peanuts and cracker jack. Unlimited root, root, root beer is the recommended drink. May cause one, two, three strokes. However, it’s enough food for your whole crowd!
This space intentionally left blank.
Also in third we have soco. I'm not sure this actually complies with the "legal" capitulation I put in the prompt, but whatevs.
Trumbo Jumbo Dog
3 pound hot dog filled with razor blades.
Just because you made it warm doesn't make it yours.
The standings thus far:
Benhat-5
ford.williams.10-3
preston.salisbury-1
soco-1
And now for this week's prompt!
A lot of TV shows, after the first episode of the season, instead of having a preview that teases the next episode, have one that teases the rest of the season. Examples here and here. You're mission, should you chose to accept it, is to write a similar teaser for the Dbacks 2015 season. You need to hint at things to come, how the things that you've already seen could tie into something bigger, and make the viewer interested enough to tune in for episode 2. Good luck!
