Diamondbacks spring training Gameday Thread, #6/7: 3/8 vs. Giants

It's a split-squad day this afternoon, but just to make things even more confusing, both parts of the roster will be playing the Giants, one at Salt River Fields (that's the televised version) and the other over at Scottsdale Stadium. Confused? You will be.

Glad it's the latter game that's being televised, since there are a number of interesting aspects here, not least Daniel Hudson making his first "start" for the Diamondbacks since the middle of 2012. I'm curious to see how this works out, and also whether it's the shape of things to come. Are they really going to try and stretch him out for a spot in the Opening Day rotation? He's scheduled to be followed by our first chance for a good look at Cuban prospect, Yoan Lopez, and I'm also keen to see what O'Brien looks like behind the plate.

I note that both games today are using the DH, even though it's between two National League clubs. I don't know if that's just because this is early in spring training and pitchers are likely to be pulled before their spot comes up in the order anyway. Seems a plausible explanation. No clue how this thread is going to work, with the D-backs playing the same team, and the same time, in two different locations! Maybe best tag any vague posts with @SRF or @Sco, as appropriate!
