One of the culinary sensations around baseball was the D-bat dog, a monstrous offering consisting of an 18-inch corn dog, stuffed with cheddar cheese, jalapenos and bacon, served on an ocean of french fries. Our own culinary expert, ish95, faced down this monster at the last SnakePitFest. What could the Diamondbacks do to follow up that beast? The answer is simple: dessert. ESPN reports the team will offer another calorific concoction at Chase Field concession stands in 2015.
The Churro Dog is a warm cinnamon churro sitting inside a Long John chocolate-glazed donut, which is then topped with frozen yogurt, caramel and chocolate sauces. Its estimated calorie count is 1,117.
The beast will be available at two concession stands on the main concourse, but seems fairly reasonably-priced at $8.50, considering two of them would represent the entire daily calorific intake for most adult land mammals. Although team president Derrick Hall said the decision to use frozen yogurt, rather than ice-cream was for logistical reasons, and "not to make fans feel less guilty about eating the Churro Dog."
