Diamondbacks spring training Gameday Thread, #22: 3/22 vs. Rockies

Pitching of particular interest here, I think. We get to see the first Cactus League appearance of Ziegler, though whether Barrett makes an appearance will depend. There are rumblings of cuts today, with his name mentioned, but it's unclear if the axe will fall before or after the game [Never mind, they've now happened!] Keen to see Schugel too, who has had a stellar spring. Mind you, I'll have largely to imagine what's going on, since I'll be watching him from the grass in the outfield! So it'll be a small dot, throwing a minuscule dot to another small dot. Do not expect any startling insights.

Still, should be fun. I have absolutely no idea whether anyone else will be at the game - this has ended up being a tad vague, rather than organized with our usual degree of military precision. [I still have a spare ticket at this point: email me if anyone wants it for free] But if you're there, I'll be towards the bottom of the berm in right field, probably from a little after 12. Essential purchase though: I must get sun-block. I know they have it in the dispensers at SRF, but have a sneaking suspicion that's watered down like restaurant Sriracha sauce, and from previous experience, that tends to run out by the fourth inning. Given my skin color i.e. Saran wrap, I want the good stuff, and lots of it.

Recap will thus be late, by the time I get out of the park, negotiate traffic, cross town, get home and write it. Probably not before seven, possibly later depending on if/when the podcast goes up [I know there were... "technical difficulties" this week - I heard Clefo's scream from Tucson] However, it should also include some pics, so that'll be nice.
