Allen Webster was part of the return from the Boston Red Sox, when we shipped them Wade Miley. But, unlike the other part of that deal, Rubby De La Rosa, Webster did not even show flashes of promise. Though I guess you could argue he provided a consistent level of performance, that's not good when the level in question is "suck". The 25-year-old made five starts and four relief appearances for the Diamondbacks, with a 5.81 ERA, and he was lucky to have that, with his FIP being 8.36. And that was close to the figure Webster posted with the Reno Aces in the minors, going 4-6 over 15 starts, with an 8.18 ERA.
For a 140-character or less summary of Webster's time with the Arizona Diamondbacks, we turn to Nick Piecoro:
Webster had a pretty brutal year with Dbacks. Didn't throw enough strikes in the big leagues, was hit hard when he did in the minors.

Seems legit. If this is the end, then the last appearance for the Diamondbacks will be a fitting one: his inning in the 21-6 pounding at the hands of the Houston Astros, in which he allowed three earned runs.
Added to the 40-man roster are three names, which fills things up at the current time - though, of course, there may be additional moves made between now and the Rule 5 draft on December 10. Here's what the team had to say about the three names added to the list.
RHP Jake Barrett (24) - Is rated as the D-backs' No. 18 Prospect by MLB.com... currently playing with Team USA in the Premier12 Championship in Japan... went 4-3 with 15 saves and a 4.58 ERA (13 ER in 23.0 IP) in 47 combined relief appearances with Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno in 2015... in 4 Minor League seasons in the D-backs' organization, has totaled 78 saves and a 3.36 ERA (69 ER in 185.0 IP)... drafted by the D-backs in the third round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Arizona State University.
So, let the "did you know Jake Barrett went to ASU?" jokes fly. Get them out of your system now. Please...
