#Dbacks acquire catcher/outfielder Chris Herrmann from the Twins for infielder/outfielder Daniel Palka.
— Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) November 10, 2015
Look out, we got some hot stove action! Well, more like a recently unplugged George Foreman grill, but hey it's something. The Diamondbacks are taking a stab at getting more depth at Catcher by acquiring Chris Herrmann from the Twins for Daniel Palka.
Herrmann has been in the bigs since 2012, where he has split time between the corner outfield positions and Catcher. He has a .181 career average and .486 OPS, so the bat isn't a factor at the moment.
Palka was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2013 Draft out of Georgia Tech and was primarily a first baseman, though he spent a decent amount of time in the Outfield this previous season. He was at Hi-A Visalia for all of last year as a 23 year old.
More analysis and opinions on this trade later, by someone other than me probably.
