Diamondbacks name Mike Butcher new Pitching Coach

The longtime Angels Pitching Coach will fill the same role with the Diamondbacks

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

After the team and Mike Harkey went their separate ways, a replacement has been found. Longtime Angels Pitching Coach Mike Butcher has been hired by the Diamondbacks to fill the same role. Butcher had been in that role for them since the 2007 season, but the Angels announced at the end of this season that he would not return to the team in 2016 (Along with their hitting coach and a decent portion of their Front office, but hey still got Mike Scioscia and Arte Moreno being buddy-buddy. Oh wait, this is supposed to be a news dump, sorry.)

Butcher had a brief Major League career in the 90s, being a relief pitcher for the then California Angels from 1992 to 1995. He compiled an 11-4 record with a 4.47 ERA and 96 strikeouts.
