Diamondbacks 8, Rockies 6: Informative and/or clever title

An intro to sum up the article, but also captivating enough to get you to click on it,.

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Talk about a back and forth game.

Sorry, that wasn't a rhetorical statement, that's my assignment tonight. The Diamondbacks and Rockies traded leads all night, and if it was earlier in the season I'd pretend to be excited. It's not, though, and I can't help but think A) I could have gone to bed an hour ago if I was on recap duty and B) I missed the NWSL Championship because I'm on recap duty.

Hmm.

The Rockies scored first, in the first. The Diamondbacks scored second, in the first, 2 runs. The Rockies scored 2 more runs, but the Diamondbacks only scored one. The Rockies scored again, and so did the Diamondbacks. 1 each. Then the Rockies scored, and the Diamondbacks responded by scoring more and overtaking the lead It was 8-6 at this point on the strength of a 4 run 7th inning, and the Diamondbacks cruised after that.

The 7th inning rally was started with a Phil Gosselin home run that was might have been out, but kind of looked like an inside the park home run. It bounced off the arms of a fan who might have been reaching over the wall, and the Colorado outfielder certainly acted like it was out. Gosselin wasn't sure, though, and ran as if it was an inside the park home run.

Socrates Brito had a good game after coming in to replace David Peralta, who bent his wrist back in an awful way. Brito racked up 3 hits in back-up duty, and I imagine we'll all take that.

Patrick Corbin had a shaky start, going only 5.1 innings and giving up 5 earned runs on 10 hits. Good thing the seasons is over so he can get some rest and additional rehab.

Light GDT tonight, not even getting to 300 comments. Roll call: Diamondhacks, GuruB, I suppose I'm a Pessimist, Jim McLennan, JoeCB1991, Makakilo, MrMrrbi, NumberOneIanKennedyFan31, Oldenschoole, Rockkstarr12, SongBird, asteroid, datr22, ford.williams.10, freeland1787, gamepass, hotclaws, onedotfive, and thunderpumpkin87.

So that's it for me. Tomorrow the Diamondbacks face the Astros for a 3 game set, the last series of the season. Try not to leave the lights on.
