Diamondbacks 1, Padres 2

Good pitching and/or putrid offense was the hallmark of this entire game. It really is hard to tell whether or not the starters were dealing or the opposing offenses were just sucking that badly. Wade Miley ended up going seven innings, only giving up one run, but was only able to get a no decision. A similar story could be told for the Padres starter, Odrisamer Despaigne. He too went seven innings, and only one run, but his team wasn't able to get him the decision either. It all was decided in the ninth when Corey Spangenberg hit a walk-off, one run home run against Brad Zeigler to give the Padres a 2-1 win.

A quick word on our returning wounded warriors. A. J. Pollock started the game, but was pretty quiet going 0-for-4 with two fielder's choices. Chris Owings made a pinch hit appearance that ended in a ground out to short. Daniel Hudson remained in the bullpen once again. Full recap to follow shortly.
