Diamondbacks 6, Rockies 7: Addison Reed Versus a Wet Paper Bag

I just I can't even

Doug Pensinger

The Diamondbacks scored 6 runs. The Rockies scored 7. Ender Inciarte had himself a game. He garnered 2 hits, but then, so did Jordan Pacheco. Wilin Rosario walked it off.

Neither pitcher went deep into the game. Vidal Nuno pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up 3 earned runs, while Yohan Flande pitched only 5 innings and gave up 2 runs. As evidenced by the title of this recap, it was the bullpens for both teams that let down their respective teams.

The Rockies were let down first. Tommy Kahnle came in and promptly gave up 4 runs, one of them by walking in a run. Not to be outdone, though, Zeke Spruill gave up two runs of his own to limit the D-backs' lead to 1.

Addison Reed got the call to close out the game. His mission, if he chose to accept it, would be to hold a 1 run lead in Coors Field. What the hell do you think happened?

(He gave up a walk-off home run).
