Reno's season ended on a sour note as they were shut out 4-0 in the PCL Championship winner-take-all game five finale. Visalia on the other hand won their elimination game and will play for the California League title on Monday night.
AAA: Reno 0 @ Omaha 4. Reno's magical run came to an end as Omaha's Aaron Brooks pitched the game of his life with a 2-hit complete game shutout. Mike Bolsinger took the mound for Reno and had a rough start early on allowing 2 runs in the first and another in the second. The offense never threatened after that and that was the extent of the story line.
A+: Visalia 11 @ Lancaster 3. The Rawhide turned a close game into a rout with some late offensive firepower scoring 10 runs in the 6th, 7th and 8th innings. Spencer Arroyo got the start and was solid going 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits and 3 walks while striking out 7. Visalia was trailing 2-1 entering the 6th when George Roberts delivered a 2-run double to take the lead. Raul Navarro drove in 2 more in the 7th with a 2-out bases-loaded single and then the flood gates opened in the 8th when Alex Glenn smashed a 3-run homer and Tyler Baker followed with a 2-run shot. That was Baker's first appearance with the team as he had just been added to the roster and was substituted as a defensive replacement. Navarro had a big game going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and a solo home run in the first. Alex Glenn had a double in addition to his bomb. A win by Visalia would be their first California League title since 1978.
