AAA: Reno 2 @ Omaha 1. Andrew Chafin was sharp throwing 6 shutout innings on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 4. Roger Kischnick gave Reno a lead they would not relinquish with a 2-run homer in the 6th inning. The bullpen took over from there. Jess Todd pitched a perfect 7th and Kevin Munson took the 8th striking out 2 while giving up a couple of singles. Jake Barrett took over in the 9th and promptly gave up a double and a single to cut the lead in half. But he quickly followed with a double-play grounder and ended the game on a grounder to first. Reno can win it all with a victory on Saturday.
A+: Visalia 0 Lancaster 3. The Rawhide were stymied for any runs in spite of getting 9 hits and 2 walks. They left 7 runners on and hit into 2 double plays while going 1 for 8 with runners in scoring position. John Omahen started and was decent allowing 2 runs over 5+ innings which was all Lancaster would need. Kevin Medrano had 2 hits including a double and Andrew Velazquez had 2 hits with a triple but was also caught stealing.
