Beer 1: Salty Scot by Parallel Brewing Co
- Another beer, another cap. This time I start out with an amazing Scotch Ale; intense caramel flavor and a little booziness and some smokiness. Think of Kilt Lifter, but on steroids (sanctioned)
- By the grace of God I managed to get the bar to switch the TV from Pre Season NFL to the game. Yup, football is upon us and soon interest in baseball will go the way of the Dodo.
- Yelling at Jerry across the bar about the merits of Didi at 2nd Base. I still think he has a hole in his swing that a truck could drive through.
- Quiet crowd for a Friday, even by summer time standards.
- As Jerry and myself discuss who’s a keeper this coming off-season, Montero crushes a three run bomb. He’s a keeper I guess. 3-0 Dbacks
- It’s comforting to know we’re not the only team in our division failing at life. Enter the Rockies.
- 80’s night in Dback land. Were I there I’d dress as a member of Cinderella or Quiet Riot. Hair Metal is KING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- 80’s film to watch. Road House
- Marte chugs out a triple. Groovy
- To no avail though.
- Oh God…..not again. Another injured pitcher??!!?!?!?!??!?
- Ok…maybe not. Gets through another scoreless inning.
Beer 2: Anniversary 21 by Avery Brewing
- Imperial Indian Brown; basically a brown ale that has been hopped up
- Bottom of the 3rd, threatening with two men on and ……threat over. 3-0 after 3
- Jerry’s informing the TV that wearing a tie dyed shirt to 80’s night is sacrilegious.
- TV just informed me that CarGo’s home/away splits are not just awful, it should be considered a war crime.
- So…..they’re going after our pitcher huh? You come at us with a baseball, we’ll come at you with a rail gun. You come at us with a rail gun, we’ll come back with a Gibby.
- Well Colorado finally got on the board 3-1 after the 5th. A college kid sits nearby with a Robin Hood type hat. This night may get weird.
Yup, that hat......
Beer 3: Rumble IPA by Epic Brewing
- Yes, I had to order an IPA, because I love IPA. Fun fact, yesterday was National IPA Day
- Jerry mentions that losing Prado was a good thing. I’m thinking, "...only if Lamb proves his worth."
- Men on 2nd and 1st with one out at the bottom of the 5th. Good things about to happen in a bad season?!?!?!
- Bases juiced!!@!??!?!?!??!?!?!
- Ummmmmmmmmm…………….what the hell just happened!?!?!?!? Pacheco with the most awkward double play ever?
- BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Well…..that was interesting. Top of the 6th now and Anderson (despite the phantom injury) is doing just fine. After 6 and he’s only allowed one run. I’m down with that.
- Anderson is done and Perez almost gets impaled by a broken bat. This game might just get interesting.
Perez the Impaled
Beer (kinda) 4: Pineapple Cider by Rocky Mountain Wild Cider
- Decided to mix it up a bit. Summer time and ciders cool the heat down. Smooth as silk and almost certainly a velvet hammer. Stick with ciders all night and you'll be in a world of hurt the next day.
- Peralta with a nice gapper triple. Starting to love that dude. 4-1 Dbacks
- Peralta, not satisfied with a triple, steals home. God bless him!!! 5-1 Dbacks. Feel good play of the year right there!
Peralta would have fit in well in this film
- Bottom of the 8th and a epic fail to keep Didi's at bat alive. Didi then laughs at the Rockies fielding and makes it to first. Huzzah
- Going into the 9th and Jerry is remarking on my metal growler. Basically a thermos with a logo on it. Keeps beer cold and intact for hours and hours though.
- Reed, per usual, making things interesting. 5-2 Dbacks as a infield single happens.
- Montero proceeds to piss me off more with a WILD throw to 2nd. What the heck happened to Miggy's defense this year.
- Reeeddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Making this game way more interesting that it should be. 5-3....
- Reed escapes and we win.......yay

An entertaining and appropriate 80's-themed Gameday Thread. freeland1787 was the most hair-tastic, followed by GuruB and SongBird. Clefo takes comment of the night for this late gem:
It's back at Chase tomorrow night for Trevor Cahill vs. Jorge de la Rosa. However, more importantly, it'll also be the SnakePit's annual Ponydome. If you don't know what that is... You probably shouldn't be here!
It's the hallmark of a good umpire
That he can piss off both teams in the course of a final at-bat
