The Dbacks announced that they will be sending seven players to the Arizona Fall league which starts in early October. Leading the way is system top prospect Archie Bradley who saw his progress slowed this year by elbow soreness so he has some innings left in his arm. Three other pitchers will join the Salt River Rafters including Enrique Burgos, Jimmie Sherfy and Kaleb Fleck. Position players who were named include rising top prospect Brandon Drury plus newly-acquired Peter O'Brien and center fielder Evan Marzilli.

AAA: Reno 5 Omaha 2. Charles Brewer seems to have turned a corner of late since his temporary demotion to Mobile a month back with another very good outing going 8 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits with 10 strikeouts. The Aces used the long ball to supply all the scoring they would need led by Garrett Webber who delivered 2 solo home runs. Mike Jacobs added a 2-run shot and Roger Kieschnick a solo bomb.
AA: Mobile - Off Day. Archie Bradley scheduled to pitch Friday against Jacksonville.
A+: Visalia 3 Modesto 2. Blayne Weller had the strikeouts going again as he fanned 10 in 5.1 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits and 3 walks. In his 41 innings for Visalia over 7 starts Weller has 63 strikeouts. The offense got out to an early 3-0 lead and held on thanks to some stellar bullpen work of 3.2 shutout innings capped off by Enrique Burgos' 29th save. Kevin Medrano paced the balanced offense with 2 hits including a solo home run.
A: South Bend 2 Bowling Green 6. Sean Furney had a fairly rough start giving up 6 runs (5 earned) on 10 hits over 5+ innings. The offense was not up to the task with 2 runs on 7 hits. Marty Herum had a pair of singles and Justin Williams had a double and an RBI.
A-: Hillsboro 3 @ Tri-City 2. Felipe Perez' development continued in a positive direction with a solid 6-inning effort in which he surrendered 2 runs (1 earned) on 7 hits and a walk. The Hops trailed 2-0 entering the 7th and scored single runs in each of the last three innings to eke out the win. Steve Nyisztor had the big hit with a solo home run in the top of the 9th that was the game winner. Jake Mayers had 3 hits while Stryker Trahan and Nate Robertson had 2 each.
R: Missoula 11 Helena 4. The Osprey scored early and often and this one was never in doubt. Stewart Ijames had a huge night with 2 home runs including a grand slam for 6 RBI. Gerard Hernandez was promoted from the AZL and went 3 for 4 in his first game with a 2-run homer. Taylor Ard had a double and a triple and Sergio Alcantara was 2 for 4 with a double. Carlos Hernandez was the beneficiary of the outburst though he was very good in his own right allowing just 1 run over 5 innings.
AZL: Dbacks 0 Padres 6. Nothing of interest in this one as the offense got shut out on 4 hits and the pitching was pretty dismal as well.
