D-backs recall Will Harris from Triple-A Reno, option Hagens to Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-handed pitcher Will Harris from Triple-A Reno and optioned right-handed pitcher Bradin Hagens to Reno, as announced by D-backs’ Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

Harris, 29, went 3-2 with 1 save, a 0.99 ERA (5 ER in 45.2 IP) and 44 strikeouts in 43 games over 2 stints (from April 14-June 9 & June 17-Aug. 17) with the Aces. He has held opponents scoreless in his last 4 games (3.1 IP) and in 26 of his last 28 games overall (0.65; 2 ER in 27.2 IP). Harris led all Minor League relievers (min. 40 games) in ERA at the time of his promotion.

Harris made his first Opening Day roster for the Opening Series in Sydney, Australia and recorded 2.0 scoreless innings of work vs. Dodgers. In 73 career games with the D-backs, he is 4-3 with a 4.13 ERA (30 ER in 65.1 IP) and 69 strikeouts. Harris is in his second season with the club after being claimed off waivers from Athletics on April 3, 2013.

Hagens, 25, went 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA (1 ER in 2.2 IP) in 2 relief outings with the D-backs. He made his Major League debut on Aug. 14 @ Marlins, the 18th rookie to appear for the D-backs this season and the 11th to make his debut.

The D-backs' 40-man roster remains at 40.
