Andrew Chafin made his big league debut and was very very good, going five innings and allowing no runs on three hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Cleveland starter Josh Tomlin was also very good, not allowing a run and being perfect through the first nine batters faced. In fact "Not allowing a run" was the overriding theme of the day.
Both teams had chances, but the best one came for the Diamondbacks in the 8th when Tuffy Goeswisch lead off with a double and an error that put him on third base, but two relievers later the Diamondbacks did not score. The game was scoreless going into extra innings, as it is wont to do.
Fast forward to the 12th, Alfredo Marte draws a walk off of CC Lee, is pinch run for by Xavier Paul. He is then bunted over to Second Base, then Tuffy gets a seeing-eye single up the middle to make the score 1-0 D'Backs. That was all the Diamondbacks needed as Addison Reed was able to get the save.

The Diamondbacks and the Indians were offensively deficient today, but in the end the D'Backs pulled it out to split the doubleheader.
