Diamondbacks 7, Pirates 4: Power Surge

Arizona returned home less two starting players. The leftovers got the job done, though, including a home run from a pinch hitter that had just literally arrived from Reno.

The Diamondbacks took down the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates via the long ball, with three different hitters getting dingers. Martin Prado and Gerardo Parra went back-to-back in the 6th to give Arizona 6-3 lead. Nick Ahmed would add an insurance run in the 8th with his first career homer.

The Pirates put up some fight, getting the first two runs in the second inning, then fighting back to tie the game in the 6th. But they lost, because they are smelly people from Western Pennsylvania.

Josh Collmenter had a good bounce back game, though Gibby kept him on a short leash. He ended up going 5 1/3 inning, getting pulled in the 6th after giving up a home run to tie the game at 3 runs a piece. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in his short outing, but the bullpen somehow kept it together and only gave up one more run the rest of the way to secure the win.
