Tweet of the Week
Yankee pinstripes, awesome. Very slimming but awesome.

Honorable mentions
#Dbacks RHP Josh Collmenter is shagging balls during BP with an American flag draped around his neck like a cape.

#Dbacks question of the day: is this a nightmare season OR is it a Freddy Kruger kill-you-in-your-sleep nightmare season?
— Seth (@seth_in_az) July 3, 2014
Paul Goldschmidt, All-Star
Why Paul Goldschmidt is an All-Star both on and off the field: http://t.co/Hajc1HwsMH @MLB @Dbacks #AZ #PHX pic.twitter.com/LDNN4e8cJ5

Paul Goldschmidt as unassuming and modest as any big name athlete I've covered in my 38 years with AP
— Robert Baum (@Thebaumerphx) July 6, 2014
Which perhaps explains this ignorant one: [NFSW: language, the more dainty may care to avert their eyes]
Who the fuck is Paul Goldschmidt?
— Connor (@Conyeezy10) July 6, 2014
But this was kinda weird. While looking for the above, I found a Tweet saying, "I would love to hate Paul Goldschmidt but I can't. He's a total professional and an exceptional talent. He's just plain good and not a jerk." Fair enough. But then I found another. And another. A search shows the exact same sentiment being Tweeted - not retweeted, note - by 33 different people, since June 30, more than two months after its apparent original use by @TheDodgerhater. Is this some kind of Twitter spam, trawling for favorites? I mean it's nice that @AsianEscortYNi thinks so highly of Paul, I suppose....

Me thinks the @Dbacks are going to make a defensive shift so drastic against the @Pirates tonight it's gonna look like Shiva is playing SS.
— Chris Argentine (@christhebetter) July 3, 2014
I will keep eating Popsicles until the @Dbacks win tonight.
— Chelsea Schmidty (@GoldSchmidty) July 3, 2014

Here's a sign of the Pirate times... Oliver Perez just came in to pitch for the Dbacks and I think 3/4 of the crowd has no idea who he is.
— Dan Bartholomae (@danbart3) July 4, 2014
The Dbacks went from being no hit in the 6th inning to dropping seven runs in the 9th... That's our season in a nutshell right there

The #Dbacks will join the rest of @MLB and wear this patch on the 75th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's speech. #Gehrig75 pic.twitter.com/bsHq9AtzMm
— Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) July 4, 2014
The #Dbacks just got shafted on two straight bad calls. I will take it since I'm a #braves fan but man those were some bad calls

Diamondbacks 4, Braves 10
Nothing changes with the dbacks giving up leads like they giving away free candy on Halloween

This must be like the absolute end of the bench for FS1 baseball announcers

You know it's a bad day when your team has more GIDP than hits. #Dbacks

"We can hear him grunting with every release." -- Chip Caray referring to the Diamondbacks' Brad Ziegler ... hopefully his pitching.

Water makes waves, fish swim in water, marlins are fish. Doing the wave makes you a fish-faced Marlins fan. DON'T DO THE WAVE!

Signs of the apocalypse, #37. I am now following a Yankees player on Twitter. So, even though he's no longer a D-back, expect to hear more from McCarthy going forward...
