Dear god what time is this I don't even want to know it's still the middle of the night there must be something wrong I don't feel well. Sorry to go all James Joyce on you, but the prospect of baseball with a first pitch of 9:35 am is definitely not something I want to see on a regular basis. Guess we'll put off that move to Hawaii. I am not a morning person. I am barely a late afternoon person, in fact.

And, of course, for the 117th (approximately) Wednesday recap in a row, the game is not on television. Fox Sports Arizona appears to be entirely in "paid programming mode". How sensible of them. Between work and this run of radio-only games, I'm trying to remember the last time I actually saw a game I had to recap. It has been a while. Probably no bad thing this morning, however, since "seeing" the game would probably involve propping my eyelids open with match-sticks.

Hopefully the offense will be more up to the task than they were yesterday, as the team suffered its ninth shutout of the year, and we're not quite at the two-thirds point. Got a good shot at racking up the highest number of those since our debut season, when we were blanked 16 times. Four more the rest of the way would take us past 2003's total of 12. Remarkably, we are 0-9 in those games. With that shining piece of observation, I'm off to get some coffee, and prop my head on the desk.
