Tigers 4, Diamondbacks 3

Tigers take game 1.

Torri Hunter got the scoring started with a two-run homer in the 2nd to make it 2-0. Austin Jackson followed that up with a solo shot in the 3rd to make it 3-0 and Vidal Nuno felt pretty homer happy.

The Diamondbacks came kinda back in the bottom of the 4th on a Miguel Montero RBI groundout, and a Mark Trumbo RBI Single off of Justin Verlander

It was tied by the Diamondbacks in bottom of the 6th on a Gerardo Parra solo home run. However, the Tigers took the lead for good in the 7th on an RBI single by Miguel Cabrera where he was thrown out at second base because he trotted out of the box because he thought that hitting a ball that was clearly below a yellow line was a home run.

The much maligned bullpen for Detroit shut everything down after that, with Joe Nathan recording a save, as he occasionally does.
