Dbacks MiLB Round-Up 6/8: Andy Marte Homers Twice

If the Dbacks need a short term back-up solution for third base should Eric Chavez go on the DL, one option may be Reno's Andy (not Alfredo) Marte. Marte spent parts of 6 seasons in the majors between 2005 and 2010, mostly with the Cleveland Indians in a reserve role. He never had a breakout season in any of those years but he sure has had a breakout time the last couple of months for Reno. In May he hit .346 with a 1.004 OPS, and so far in June he is 14 for 30 with 3 home runs. He hit two home runs last night and has 10 on the year with a .946 OPS. He might be a better option if we're only talking about a few week rather than Jake Lamb, who we'll want to call up for extended playing time as opposed to a reserve role.
